Specialised Coaching

Val d'Isère is one of Europe's most popular resorts for skiers training for instructor qualifications, and many of the exams themselves are held here each winter.

As a result, we're very fortunate to have some of the best training programmes and specialist coaches anywhere in the world.

For those looking to undertake a season-long training programme, ICE offer a range of courses lasting from one to ten weeks, covering different levels and disciplines within the BASI (British Association of Snowsport Instructors) qualification pathway.

They also run masterclasses for experienced skiers who simply want to develop their own skiing without necessarily aiming to become instructors.

Outwith ICE, we're also lucky to have several BASI trainers – the people who train and examine future ski instructors – based here in Val d'Isère.

Most are ex-racers themselves and there is no one better qualified to help you through the final gates on the road to a career in instructing.

Our particular recommendations would be Giles Lewis from The Development Centre and Lynn Mill and Cammy Gunn, who both work independently.

Highly recommended:
ICE - Instructor & Performance Courses
The Development Centre
BASS - British Alpine Ski School
