Ski Equipment Rental

in Val d'Isère

Well... you don't seriously expect us to write an impartial guide to ski rental, do you?

We've spent more than 35 years trying to build what we believe is the best ski rental shop in Val d'Isère, so we're hardly going to tell you to go somewhere else! If you'd like to know why we think we're different, the rest of this website explains exactly that.

What we will say, whichever shop you choose, is that your equipment really can make or break your holiday. Don't underestimate the importance of getting it right and don't choose solely on price. Ski rental isn't all the same, and the quality of the equipment, the choice available and, above all, the people fitting it can make a huge difference to your enjoyment of the week.

Whatever shop you rent from, make sure they have enough choice not only to fit you with skis and boots to start with, but also to change them if they're not quite right. We regularly see people who arrive with boots that are agony to ski in, only to discover the shop they hired from has nothing else to offer them.

And be very careful of third party agency sites. There are plenty of them out there selling ski rental but they just intermediaries taking a cut and have no control over the end product, the equipment you will get or the service that comes with it.

There’s even one well known site selling ski hire in Val d’Isère that’s based in Bratislava (that’s in Slovakia in case you don’t know, we had to Google it!). If you have a question about your booking or a problem with your equipment, you're dealing with a company over a thousand kilometers away rather than the people who will actually be fitting your skis and boots.

We'd always recommend booking directly with the shop that's going to look after you in resort.

If you do decide to give Snowberry a try, we'd love to look after you. If not, we hope you have a fantastic holiday anyway. Whichever shop you choose, make sure your boots are fitted properly, don't be afraid to ask to change your equipment if it doesn't feel right and remember that a good ski shop should want you to have the right kit, not just any kit.
