Private Coaching

and Clinics

We’ve all heard of the infamous “plateau” – after a couple of weeks’ lessons you get to the intermediate stage where you’re comfortable getting round the easier runs on the mountain by yourself. You can probably “make it down” some of the more difficult ones too, though it might not be a lot of fun and it’s probably not very pretty either.

So you don’t bother with the lessons any more – and while you can ski “okay”, you don’t really seem to be getting any better and it gets frustrating sometimes.

This is the time to invest in a couple of technical clinics– maybe one early in the week and another a few days later, after you’ve had a chance to brush up your skiing from last time and practice your new skills.

Developing and fine tuning your technique will allow you to be more precise and accurate in your turns. Your increased control and confidence mean you can happily crank up your speed and tackle steeper slopes and more difficult conditions.

The more you work on your technique over a period of time the more comfortable you will become all over the mountain, in whatever conditions it has to offer you.

There are also a few excellent English-speaking instructors who aren't associated with a ski school and work independently. They're often fully booked well in advance but, if you can get a half day with Lynn Mill, we can't recommend her more highly — if you can get her.
